NOAA has awarded the Fairbanks Command and Data Acquisition Station (FCDAS) Operations and Maintenance Support Services contract to ASRC Federal subsidiary Netcentric Technology, LLC. The $44M contract began on June 1st and includes a base period of one year, with four 12-month option periods.

NOAA maintains FCDAS in Fairbanks, Alaska for the purpose of acquiring meteorological and environmental data from its polar-orbiting environmental satellites. FCDAS also acts as a backup in support of NOAA’s primary geostationary satellite ground station.

The ASRC Federal team will install, operate and repair highly specialized satellite ground station equipment. It will also carry out essential services to maintain the site’s buildings, vehicles, roads, and infrastructure in support of satellite operations.

“This NOAA facility in Fairbanks is a National Critical Asset that maintains functions 24×7, regardless of emergencies or disasters,” said Jennifer Felix, president and CEO of ASRC Federal. “We are honored to continue our work on this important mission, and grateful for this validation of our team’s experience, contributions and previous success.”
