ASRC Federal today announced the hire of Jean Marie “Jeannie” Kranz as senior director, overseeing business development and strategy of the company’s NASA Houston operations. In her role, Kranz will provide strategic leadership to advance and foster ASRC Federal’s partnerships with customers and industry partners within the Houston market and across the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
“We are delighted to welcome Jeannie Kranz to our team as we look to expand our Houston operations and our support of NASA Johnson Space Center missions,” said Scott “Scooter” Altman, former NASA astronaut and ASRC Federal senior vice president of civil programs. “Her passion for space advocacy and leadership in policy development is recognized throughout the civilian and defense aerospace industry.”
For more than three decades, Kranz has advocated for human space flight and space exploration, leading various organizations and committees to advance space industry development across the country. Prior to joining ASRC Federal, Kranz most recently served as senior advisor of space policy for Congressman Brian Babin, representing Texas’ 36th congressional district.
Throughout her career, Kranz has held numerous leadership positions, including director of strategic relations at Jacobs Technology and manager for strategic communications, customer relations, and advocacy at United Space Alliance (USA).
A community leader and builder, Kranz has served on boards and committees of many philanthropic and civic organizations focused on promoting education, human and civic services. These include the City of League City, Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership, Greater Houston Partnership, Coalition for Deep Space Exploration, American Heart Association, Galveston Food Bank, Rotary National Award for Space Achievement (RNASA), and the Houston Workforce Transition Center.
